A beautiful, village-made, early 19th-century French confit pot. Handmade from terracotta, featuring a lovely patchy Caramel glaze and a wonderfully wonky handle—full of honest, authentic rustic charm.
Authentic Charm from a French Village Kiln
Discover a piece of authentic French history with this gorgeous, petite antique confit pot, dating from the early 19th century. This pot was lovingly village made from terracotta and fired in a traditional wood kiln, giving it a rich, natural texture and a truly unique presence.
The pot is defined by its rustic character: a lovely, patchy, crazed light Caramel glaze covers the surface, including the bottom. You can spot a wonderfully wonky handle and some random glaze dribbles, likely from neighbouring pots in the kiln; these imperfections are the true markers of its primitive charm and originality.
In excellent antique condition, it's free from cracks, with just some small nibble chips to the edge of the base that show its years of honest use. It's a timeless piece that looks stunning styled with dried flowers, kitchen utensils, or simply standing alone as a decorative statement in a French farmhouse kitchen or rustic interior.
As an ethical and green business, we ensure this piece is responsibly sourced and packed securely using 100% recycled materials.
