Beautiful early 19th century Cook pot. Made from grogged clay typical of cookware of the 18th century and early 19th century with a fantastic smoked patina from all the years of use of the kitchen fire. The pot has a twisted iron wire around the top to provide strength during use. It has great charm being village made and not perfect and slightly out of shape. I have left it completely uncleaned as in found condition with even the remains of French newspaper stuck to the inside adding to its charm.
