Fabulous early 19th century hand woven hand sewn Large grain sack. Constructed from hand woven heavy Linen Hemp mix slubby fabric and beautifully hand sewn throughout. with a single central seam its of classic french country construction and not to be confused with the Eastern European Grain sacks. Has a wonderful sewn strong monogram I R H to identify the owner, the I standing for a J which was common during the 18th and 19th century. The sack was most likely used during Harvest time for Olives and Walnuts as well as Grain. In super condition and in as found condition with only light storage marks. Fantastic piece for country decoration or a rustic table runner.
